Harold Frasier Dies in India
Local Soldier Had Served 16 Months Overseas with the Army Air Corps
Cpl. Harold L. Frasier, 31, son of Mrs. Jessie Frasier, Colon Point, died in Assam, India, April 3. He had been in the ground forces of the Army Air Corps and had served overseas for the past 16 months.
Harold Frasier was born in Rice Lake Sept. 9, 1913. He was graduated from the local high school with the class of 1933. He was a member of the Rice Lake volunteer fire department from 1936 until he re-enlisted in the Army in September 1942. He was a member of Company D for a number of years, and had received a discharge about a year before enlisting in the Army Air Corps. He was married in August 1943.
He is survived by his wife, Brooklyn, N.Y.; his mother; four sisters, Mrs. Dewayne (Rhea) Chartier; Mrs. J.H. (Dorothy) Vanden Bos, Long Beach, Cal.; Mrs. Robert (Nadine) Houts, Brill; and Marian; two brothers, Russell, at home, and Pfc. Richard Frasier in England.4

Body of Co. Harold Frasier Who Died in India Returned Here for Reburial
Reburial services for Cpl. Harold L. Frasier, son of Mrs. Jessie Frasier, Colan blvd., were held this afternoon at the Hyllengren funeral home with Rev. Irving Johnson officiating.
Pall bearers were members of old Company D in which Frasier served for a number of years. Burial with military honors was in Nora cemetery. The Rice Lake Guard of Honor formed the military escort.
Cpl. Frasier was born in Rice Lake, Sept. 9, 1913 and graduated from the Rice Lake high school in 1933. He was a member of the Rice Lake volunteer fire department from 1936 until he re-enlisted.
He was a member of Company D for a number of years and served with the unit in the Louisiana maneuvers. He received an honorable discharge in 1941 and remained home until September 1942 when he re-enlisted in the army air force.
He received his training at Gulfport, Miss. and Kelly Field, Texas and was sent to India in December, 1943 where he served 16 months until his death at Assam, India on April 2, 1945.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jessie Frasier; four sisters: Mrs. Robert (Nadine) Houts of Brill; Mrs. D.J. (Rhea) Chartier of Bremerton, Wash.; Mrs. J.H. (Dorothy) Vanden Bos of Bellflower, Calif.; and Marian at home; two brothers, Richard in Milwaukee and Russell at home.
Cpl. Frasier was also an active member of the local DeMolay unit for several years.4
