Mrs. William Scharlau

Mrs. William Scharlau, 67, [address deleted], Menomonie, died Wednesday, March 15, at Luther hospital, Eau Claire.
Margaret Cook was born Jan. 3, 1900 in the town of Red Cedar, daughter of Robert and Mary Cook. She married William Scharlau and together they owned and operated Scharlau Nursing in Menomonie for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
She is survived by her husband, William,at home; and five daughters: Helen, Mrs. Morris Ranney, and Margaret, Mrs. David Storing, both of Menomonie; Dorothy, Mrs. Orville Wilsey, Coon Rapids, Minn.; and Mary Ann and Marlys, both at home; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Hennessey, San Gabriel, Calif.; one brother, Leonard Cook, Elk Mound; and five grandchildren.
Two brothers, Bernard and Albert, one sister, Sarah [Sarah (Cook) Rosseter], and one daughter, Mildred, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church, the Rev. H. Marcus Schwartz officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery. The Goodrich Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
