PROMINENT RESIDENT OF TOWN OF HOWARD CALLED BY DEATH SATURDAY
Lyman Reed, 67 years old, a highly respected resident of the town of Howard, died suddenly Saturday afternoon as a result of an attack of heart failure. Mr. Reed was about his farm as usual Saturday when he began feeling poorly and went into the house. A short time later he was seized with a heart attack, and although rushed immediately to St. Joseph’s hospital died within an hour and a half.
Mr. Reed was born at Necedah, Wis., and when a small boy moved to a farm near Bloomer. There he resided while he grew to manhood and after his marriage to Mrs. Evelyn Polley moved to the town of Howard where he has since resided on a farm. His wife preceded him in death two years ago.
He is survived by three sons, Clarence of Lockford, California, and Lyle and Leverett, both of whom reside at home; and also by one daughter, Ella, who is at home, and by two brothers, William of New Auburn, and Wesley of Cameron, and by four sisters, Mrs. T.J. Toy of Howard, Mrs. D.E. Lynch of Bloomer, Mrs. Jennie Burns and Mrs. O.A. Hammerstein, both residing in the state of Washington.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Presbyterian church in this city, Rev. Bruhn officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill cemetery.
